The Case of the Lost Island; A Casey Lane and Jackie Lee GSD Mystery

“The traffic is horrible Jackie Lee, I’m pulling off up there.” I told my German Shepherd.

We were in a traffic jam like no one wanted to be in without a motorhome, if you know what I mean.

I moved the RV over to the side of the road and we inched our way to the turnoff. Pulling into Moses Lake we grabbed the first campsite we came across. It was full!

I hurriedly pulled out and we tried another one on the other end of town. There was still space, so I paid for two nights. We needed some shuteye after our adventure. I sure missed Sophia, but I really missed her dragon Gunther. Yes, a real dragon, but that’s another story.

A thought for the night.

I love writing, I just need the time to do it. Not too long and school will be out for the summer. Hopefully Ranger will be on his mission and come out of it alive! Kanani’s Golden Caves is now .99 for a few more days, then Sophia and the Stradivarius will go up for .99 for a week. I have a story to research and work on. It’s the story of a family member. The man died many years ago with many secrets. After his wife’s death papers, letters and photos were found in the attic. He was apparently a spy for England during WW2. When he retired he told his wife he worked at the railroad! This is an intriguing story that I need to get more facts on and make it fiction based on truth. My spring break is almost over, it’s been wonderful!!!
Have a good evening everyone! I’m going to spend some time with my German Shepherds and parrot now.

The Unsuspecting Spy

The Unsuspecting Spy

It was 1981 and my grandmother had just died, I was on my way to England to go through her things. When I arrived I met a cousin I had not seen since a child.  She let me in with her key and we went up to the attic of my grandmother’s little two story yellow cottage in Surrey, England. I pulled open boxes; all of them were from my grandfather that had died long ago. I knew nothing of him really; he died before I was born. My cousin and I pulled out boxes and boxes of letters and photos, then drug them downstairs. The old desk that I was never allowed to touch as a child was just sitting there in the parlor.  What was in the locked drawers? I was going to find out.  I picked up the key sitting in the metal dish on top of the mahogany desk and put it into the lock. When I opened it, my life and my cousins’ live were changed forever. This is my grandfathers’ story; he was a spy for the English government during World War 11. Why did he die with his secrets? What was he hiding from his family? Where was his other family? He told my grandmother he worked for the railroad. I read on and this is his remarkable story.

Sweet Dreams from all of us

Off to the medieval faire in Port Gamble tomorrow. Hopefully Sophia, Kanani, Ranger, Casey Lane and Jackie Lee will be safe until I return. Little Dave better stay out of trouble too. We all pray for the poor people hit by the tornadoes tonight. Sweet dreams.
